  • For whom Visitors with colour vision deficiency

The Van Gogh Museum now has special glasses for visitors with colour vision deficiency to borrow during their visit. The EnChroma glasses make the colours in the paintings appear brighter and more saturated, and also help you to see more depth and details in colour. The glasses are effective for approximately 80% of people with red-green vision deficiency (Protan and Deutan).

If you would like to know whether the glasses also work for you, take the online test:

Different types of glasses

We are all different, which is why different types of glasses are available:

  • standard glasses, suitable for adults;
  • glasses for children;
  • glasses for adults that can be worn on top of other glasses.

Request your glasses

Please first book a ticket for the museum, so that you know on what day and at what time you require the glasses. You can subsequently complete the below form to order your glasses.

You can collect the glasses from the Information Desk on the day of your visit.

Collection

Please bring proof of identification with you when you collect the glasses, so that we can verify your reservation. Don’t forget to return the glasses at the end of your visit to the museum. The EnChroma glasses feature invisible anti-theft protection. If the glasses are wilfully stolen, the museum will prosecute.
