BE@RBRICK x Van Gogh Museum

‘It’s something like Japanese art, once you love that you don’t have second thoughts about it.’

Vincent van Gogh to his brother Theo, Arles, Monday, 7 May 1888

The collaboration

The Van Gogh Museum started its collaboration with the Japanese company MEDICOM TOY, creator of the highly sought-after BE@RBRICK limited editions, in 2019.

It began with works that reflect the important role Japan played in Vincent van Gogh’s life and artistic development. Although he never visited the country, he was deeply inspired by Japanese prints, which he collected, studied and admired. Their influence can be seen throughout his work. After the first two successful launches, the collaboration expanded further to include collectibles inspired by other iconic works from the museum’s collection.

More than 130 years after his death, Vincent van Gogh and his work continue to inspire designers, artists and admirers around the world.

The collection

Each limited-edition BE@RBRICK x Van Gogh Museum collectible figure is inspired by one of Vincent van Gogh’s works.
