Van Gogh reproductions

As Vincent once wrote to his brother Theo:

‘And instead of putting on grandiose exhibitions, it would have been better to address oneself to the common people, and work so that everyone may have paintings or reproductions at home.’

Vincent van Gogh to his brother Theo, Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Tuesday 26 November 1889.

High-quality reproductions

The Van Gogh Museum and Artimedes share a deep commitment to quality and sustainability. Together, they strive to create striking, colourfast reproductions of original masterpieces.

The giclee prints developed by Artimedes in collaboration with the museum are hand varnished, enhancing the vibrancy of the colours and providing extra protection against UV radiation. Giclee is a premium reproduction technique that uses pigment-based inks and ultra-high-resolution printing on fine art paper or canvas.

About the collaboration

In 2016, Artimedes and the Van Gogh Museum launched their partnership to produce sustainable, high-quality reproductions. Much of the museum’s collection is now available as certified giclee prints – sold through the Van Gogh Museum shops and webstore, in the Artimedes webstore, and at selected retailers.

About Artimedes

Using a 12-colour printing system, Artimedes creates certified giclée reproductions known for their exceptional quality, colour accuracy, and durability.
