Vincent van Gogh’s drawings and paintings form the foundations for a wide range of unique products, each of which tells its own story. Buying & Merchande is active in a range of areas: from determining a product development strategy to product purchasing and shop presentation.

Product development and purchasing

In addition to popular souvenirs such as mugs, magnets and T-shirts, our range of products also features items created in collaboration with designers and leading brands. There’s the special Van Gogh Museum edition of Monopoly, for example, and Gassan Diamonds jewellery.

The museum also offers a varied selection of books: about Van Gogh the artist, artists of Van Gogh's time, but also exhibition catalogues, academic publications and children’s books.

We have collaborated with Dutch Designers such as Hester van Eeghen, Studio Droog and bag designers Smaak Amsterdam. These designers were inspired by Vincent van Gogh’s works, resulting in a special range of products that, through the use of colour and detailing, offer a contemporary take on Vincent’s paintings. We also collaborate with acclaimed brands such as Jaeger-LeCoultre to develop luxury products that unite the best of both brands.

The Van Gogh Museum is home to various (online) store concepts. There are three shops within the museum, all offering products that exude the character of Vincent van Gogh’s work. Another popular shop is located close to the museum on Museumplein. The proceeds from our shops and online shop, contribute to maintaining the museum and preserving the collection.
